About Us
The Story Behind Maison Noir
Maison Noir is the story of two people Léo Dominguez and noir Polchi a Parisian couple who have shared their lives for nearly a decade. We founded this brand together in 2013, inspired by the momentum of our very first Kickstarter campaign. From the beginning, our vision has stayed true: to craft products that are refined, enduring, and thoughtfully designed for everyday life.

Every piece in our collection is conceived in Paris, within the Studio Maison Noir a space where elegance and practicality are always in dialogue. noir leads the design process, bringing each silhouette to life through her sketches, while our trusted ateliers in Italy and Spain partner with us to bring each collection to fruition.

Each design is brought to life in two exceptional workshops one nestled in Naples, Italy, and the other in Ubrique, Spain. Both locations share the same commitment: every product is crafted entirely on-site, with the vast majority of each step carried out by hand, honoring a tradition of slow, intentional making.

The tale of Leo and noir is our tale. I'm Léo Dominguez and she's noir Polchi. A pair of Parisians who've been building a life together for over 8 years. From the moment we connected, we harbored a shared vision of creating something meaningful as partners. When we founded Le petit cartable in January 2013, that vision began to take shape. Our inaugural Kickstarter launch was underway!

Our atelier is nestled just outside Naples, Italy — a place where leather craftsmanship runs deep. Established in the early 1980s by Dino Levorino, a master artisan celebrated for his expertise, the workshop has since been passed down to his son Gennaro. We speak with him daily, collaborating closely on production and the creation of new designs. More than a manufacturer, they are true partners who share our vision at Esteem.
